Daniel Stevenson

is a visual effects artist, video editor, photographer and videographer based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Drawn to the creative possibilities of film from an early age, Daniel developed a passion for visual storytelling, light and cinematic imagery. Today, he specialises in combining visual effects with thoughtful editing to create polished, story-driven content that is both technically refined and creatively engaging.

Working in the film industry since 2008, Daniel began his career as an apprentice to a film director, gaining hands-on experience across directing, cinematography, lighting, editing and visual effects. He later spent nine years at a Cape Town post-production house as an online editor and visual effects artist before moving into full-time freelance work.

Over the years, Daniel has worked across commercials, documentaries, branded content and short films, developing a strong eye for storytelling alongside a passion for seamless visual effects, compositing, motion graphics and creative problem-solving. He has also embraced modern AI workflows, integrating new tools where they enhance creativity while keeping story and craftsmanship at the centre of every project.

Today, Daniel collaborates with clients both locally and internationally, bringing nearly two decades of industry experience, technical expertise and a calm, collaborative approach to every production.
